Serendib Airways to upgrade their aircraft fleet with the recently released Cessna Skycourier 21 Seater (19 Pax + 02 Crew) utility aircrafts by adding 02 units to their fleet soon, (which can be converted to Passenger and Cargo or both), in addition to their GippsAero GA8 Airvan aircrafts currently in service.
Order of 02 units were placed in 2019 to the manufacturer, but due to the Covid19 pandemic situation the production of the Cessna Skycourier was interrupted with a delay on delivering. Serendib Airways is in process on reconsidering the purchase of the 02 units to commence and expand their service in Sri Lanka’s domestic market.

03 March 2019: Serendib Airways commences scheduled flights to Batticaloa 03 times a week from BIA and Ratmalana
Inaugural ceremony of commencement of scheduled flights to Batticaloa by Serendib Airways was held on 03rd March 2019 at Batticaloa International Airport.
Serendib Airways to operate 03 flights a week to Batticaloa International Airport from BIA and Ratmalana Airports and the same flight will continue to Trincomalee Airports via Batticaloa Airports 03 times a week on every Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays.
Distinguished guests including the governor of Batticaloa and members of parliament and many other guests were presence during the gathering. Guests were offered several complementary short flights over Batticaloa lagoon to experience the operations during the inaugural occasion.
12 July 2018: Serendib Airways Headquarters Grand Opening at WTC, Level 10, East Tower
Inaugural ceremony of the Grand opening of Serendib Airways’ Headquarters at World Trade Center, Level 10, East Tower, Echelon Square, Colombo 01 was held on 12th July 2018 with the presence of distinguished guests from many Government and Private organizations including the Director General of Civil Aviation of Sri Lanka, Airport and Aviation Services….etc.
Opening Religious ceremony was lead by the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Colombo and lighting of the oil lamp was carried out by many invited distinguished guests including the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Prasad Fernandopulle and the Directors of the organization.
